Four decades ago, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice wrote the greatest rock musical the world has ever known. When the show premiered in Australia at the Capitol Theatre Sydney in May 1972, Harry M Miller and Jim Sharman chose an unknown rock singer for the role of Judas and launched the career of one of Australia's most successful performers.
Guest starring in the role of Pilate for a strictly limited season at the Princess Theatre, Encore Theatre Company takes great pleasure in announcing that in March 2012 Jon English is returning to the show that made him a Superstar.
Featuring a massive cast starring Tasmanian performer Brett Budgeon as Jesus, the musical by Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Tim Rice is the moving retelling of the final seven days of Jesus Christ’s life.
The Famous Theatre production Jesus Christ Superstar is coming to Launceston on 16-24 March 2012 and will be showing at the historic Princess Theatre. 		  
 
Accommodation and ticketing packages
The Launceston Travel and Information Centre are selling some great value Jesus Christ Superstar ticket and accommodation packages, with all accommodation establishments within walking distance to the Princess Theathre. Rates are subject to availability and are on a per person twin share basis. Premium A Reserve tickets include a program and glass of sparkling on arrival.
